RSFCC’s highly trained specialists are equipped with the most advanced cancer-fighting tools available, including robot-assisted surgery, advanced radiation tools, clinical testing, chemotherapy and other infusion services. The RSFCC believes that support services are an integral part of curing patients. Services include oncology nursing navigation, licensed clinical oncology social workers, nutritional services, cancer survival and wellness activities.

The Medical Director provides leadership in a dyad model with the Director of Oncology Services in a health care system led by a matrix doctor, integrating care across all hospitals in the system, medical group, post-acute care, community and medical practices affiliates in Roper St. Francis primary and secondary markets. This position provides strategic and administrative leadership, including strategic planning / implementation; clinical standardization; legal and regulatory compliance; business / program development; relationship development; and operational effectiveness.

As the primary clinical leader responsible for developing oncology services, he will work with key physicians, involving them in the development of best practice processes. Functions include, but are not limited to: Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, West Ashley Cancer Center, Infusion Therapy, Cancer Registry and Hematology. He / she will develop partnership affiliations and philanthropic support for the oncology program and will be responsible for recruiting doctors and other clinical professionals needed to provide cancer services.

The Medical Director will have the appropriate board certification in any of the medical oncology specialties, especially Bone Marrow Transplantation, and will demonstrate progressive leadership experience and have a history of building successful and integrated multidisciplinary cancer programs.
