CBS is preparing for the debut of Clarice– the new series of terror and crime that begins with The Silence of the LambsThe FBI prodigy, Clarice Starling, a year after the events of that movie – with all kinds of clips and peeps. As expected, there are without Hannibal Lecter to be found, but we are still intrigued.
First, here’s the star of the series Rebecca Breeds as Clarice, giving a familiar monologue about a flashback on how to save you-know-which farm animals.
Next, Clarice meets a well-known politician – Senator Ruth Martin, who is now Attorney General Ruth Martin and played by Jayne Atkinson – who describes two women “cut into strips” by a serial killer. It definitely sounds like a job for Agent Starling, and so on Clarice we will see her join a task force dedicated to investigating the crimes.
“Ruth Martin’s drop of honey for the cameras” is no a very cheerful way of describing Agent Starling. Who thinks she’ll prove that this patronizing idiot is wrong somewhere along the way?
Finally, here’s a behind-the-scenes look at the show and her interpretation of Clarice’s character as a woman who has gone through a much but it’s still a game for hunting monsters.
Clarice premieres Feb. 11 on CBS.
