Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., has indicated that she will not apologize for a tweet she sent last week, where she accused Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, of almost killing her in the 6 January riot. January at the Capitol.
When asked on Monday at an event in Queens whether she planned to apologize for accusing Cruz of almost “murdering” her and asking for her resignation, Ocasio-Cortez defended his comments.
“That’s not the quote and I’m not going to apologize for what I said,” said Ocasio-Cortez, also known as AOC, at the Queens event, reported by The New York Post.

The rough tweet was written after Cruz agreed to a post that Ocasio-Cortez had written about the action of the Robinhood trading app to restrict certain transactions and the need for a Congressional hearing.
Ocasio-Cortez went after Cruz and Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., For following President Donald Trump’s leadership and echoing an unfounded rhetoric about the validity of the 2020 presidential election, which incited the deadly turmoil last month in DC
During an Instagram video where she detailed her experience on January 6, she said that the duo and Rep, Mo Brooks, R-Ala., Remain a “present danger” because they have not taken responsibility for the impact of their words and actions.

“What that tells me is that when they receive another window of political opportunity for them, even if they know it means they will put their colleagues at risk, they will do it again,” said Ocasio-Cortez.
At least one Republican has asked the progressive Democrat to issue an apology – Congressman Chip Roy, R-Texas.
Chip wrote a letter to Mayor Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Calling Ocasio-Cortez’s behavior “completely unacceptable”.
