War zone players are abusing a new invisibility flaw to win • Eurogamer.net

UPDATE 18h40: After the discovery – and subsequent abuse – of an invisibility flaw in the newly introduced Armored Royale mode of Call of Duty: Warzone, developer Raven Software has announced that it will remove the rotation mode while investigating the problem.

There is still no indication of when Armored Royale might return, but it’s probably worth keeping an eye on. Raven’s Twitter feed, where the ad was broken, for additional updates.

ORIGINAL STORY 1:55 pm: It’s a case of one step forward and two steps back to the exploits of Call of Duty: Warzone, with players now abusing an invisibility flaw to win.

This flaw, first reported in December 2020, but apparently exacerbated by last week’s Warzone update, comes shortly after developer Raven Software’s fix for the problematic infinite stimulation flaw that has plagued the Battle Royale giant for months.

The invisibility flaw appears to be restricted to Armored Royale mode, which was added to Warzone on February 5 as part of the game’s weekly playlist update.

The Armored Royale mode is the only one that gives players squads a Cargo Truck equipped with reinforced armor, a personalized mobile shopping station for vehicle upgrades and, above all, a built-in tower.

The invisibility flaw that hit the War Zone in December 2020 revolved around the new helicopter minigun, and it is believed that this new flaw may be part of a similar bug. Raven ended up temporarily removing the attack helicopter from both maps of the war zone while working on a correction.

I was contacted by a number of frustrated war zone players over the weekend who came across this invisibility flaw. In the video below, by Twitch streamer Yoda0103, an Armored Royale match ended with nine invisible players on five teams.

Players are also reporting the issue on the Warzone subreddit:

Really Activision ?! How does the invisibility flaw BACK in the game along with so many other exploits ?? from r / CODWarzone

The hope is that Raven will resolve this sooner or later, although removing the Cargo Truck from Armored Royale would ruin the mode. Perhaps Raven extracts the mode entirely while working on a fix.

This is not the only invisibility bug in Warzone right now. Grinch’s Forest Spirit skin currently has a bug that makes the model invisible at certain distances (only its head and weapon are visible). Raven is working to resolve this.

Warzone is doing the business for Activision, but is going through a relatively difficult period for mistakes and failures at the moment, as Activision struggles to change its reputation for a game full of cheating.
