Dozens of elderly people who arrived in Framingham on Saturday to receive their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine faced an unexpected problem.
The vaccination clinic hosted at the Joseph P. Keefe Technical School is only open to city residents, but the state’s online scheduling system still allows people from other communities – as well as people under 75 – to register for an appointment. .
Despite having filled out the registration forms by hand, the elderly who did not live in Framingham were informed they were not eligible to receive the dose and that their appointment had already been canceled, according to the mayor’s office.
