The singer-songwriter sang “Kyoto” and “I Know the End” from her excellent 2020 album Punisher.

After country singer-songwriter Jason Isbell heavy about some of the negative comments about crushing the guitar (“That was like an $ 85 guitar that it broke, come on, guys”), Bridgers answered that she told the company that made the guitar about her plans to break it beforehand.

@JasonIsbell I told danelectro that I was going to do this and they wished me luck and told me that they are hard to break

those who are pressured about the @phoebe_bridgers guitar break OBVIOUSLY don’t know the deep cultural reference she was making to Bright Eyes’ classic guitar break “Road To Joy” at the end of the show

Did you catch the guy who breaks the trumpet in that video? This is instrumentalist Nate Walcott – who also played in Bridgers’ band on SNL last night.
