Elizabeth Hurley is not letting herself be overwhelmed by the cold of winter.
The British model and actress, 55, took to social media on Sunday to conclude her “fake vacation”, where she posted a photo of herself in a bathing suit daily as a way to deal with pandemic boredom.
Boasting nothing but a lime green bikini from his Elizabeth Hurley Beach swimsuit line and a pair of sunglasses, Hurley basked in the sun in Sunday’s photo. The star was shown drinking a glass of champagne in front of the picturesque blue waters.
“Unfortunately, my #pretendvacation is coming to an end; time to get back to the mud and mist of my beloved Herefordshire. Fingers crossed it will snow, so it will be bikini time again. Enough time to squeeze a glass of chilled champagne before packing, ”she wrote, along with the hashtags“ stay home ”and“ long live my camera roll ”.
Hurley started the fake vacation last month, promising 10 consecutive days of bikini photos.
“Pretend to vacation!” Hurley wrote. “I’m so sick of being at home that I’m pretending I’m out and I’m living vicariously on my camera roll for the next 10 days.”
The first photo showed Hurley, wearing another bikini from her line of swimwear, while she kicked her leg up and played on a beach in a backward photo.
Before her “fake vacation”, Hurley received some negative reactions after posting a particularly sassy photo of herself without a shirt, which Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan called it “thirsty” and “scary”.
The negative reaction to Hurley’s hot photos reflects some reactions to stars like Salma Hayek and Paulina Porizkova, who are also known for their frequent bikini photos. So, what is the root of hostility towards stars that joyfully celebrate themselves?
“There is a fine line between jealousy, which is a competitive or hopeful feeling (‘Maybe I can look that way’) and envy, which drives our drive to destroy. (‘You have something I want and there is no hope that I can achieve it’), ”psychotherapist Bethany Marshall recently told Yahoo Life. “What these images say is, ‘I control my life’, a position that historically has not been applied to women. Marshall also said that part of the reaction has to do with the age of the stars in the photos. It is no accident that Hurley, Hayek and Porizkova are in their 50s.
“Older women shouldn’t be sexy – especially when they’re mothers,” said Marshall. “These photos are taboo for those who believe that, in addition to their fertile years, women should hide their bodies and, if they don’t, they will be vain.”
