LONDON (AP) – Bad weather in Europe, ranging from floods in France to heavy snowfalls in Germany, has caused inconvenience and damage – but also magnificent scenery to see or play with.

The floods devastated many vineyards and orchards in southwest France, while the River Seine overflowed for the fifth consecutive day in Paris.

In Great Britain, heavy snow is forecast for the next few days and is expected to bring disruption to south-east England, as extremely cold winds hit much of the country. Some areas of the UK accumulated on Sunday.

A snowstorm and strong winds hit northern and western Germany, forcing trains to cancel trips and leading to hundreds of vehicle accidents. Police said more than two dozen people were injured on the icy roads.

But the storms also brought picturesque scenes, with people enjoying the day as the Sahara sand colored the snow near Altenberg, Germany. And a pony appeared near Millhouse Green, in northeastern England, as a horse-drawn carriage passed through the German city of during a commotion.

The climate is expected to remain cold in the coming days across the continent. Temperatures dropped to -21 C (-5.8 F) in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius on Sunday.
