Cleveland Cavaliers striker Larry Nance Jr. has a fractured finger on his left hand that is likely to require surgery, and he will lose four to six weeks, sources told ESPN.
Nance, who suffered an injury in the 124-99 defeat of the Cavaliers to the Milwaukee Bucks, has contributed significantly to the solid start of the team (10-14) this season, standing out in defense.
He is second in the NBA for steals, with 1.9 per game. Nance has averaged 9.3 points and 6.8 rebounds in 33.4 minutes per game this season.
He recently lost time with a sprained right wrist.
The loss of Nance further shortens the Cavaliers’ attacking court, where former All-Star Kevin Love is still out while recovering from a leg injury. Love is not expected to return before the end of a five-game Western Conference trip. The Cavaliers lost three consecutive games and the next game in Phoenix on Monday.
