San Francisco robbery ‘destroy and grab’ on the driver’s Tesla camera

A Tesla driver’s dashboard camera captured a shocking “smash and grab” assault in broad daylight in San Francisco on Friday.

The video shows several cars stopped in traffic, waiting to enter Interstate 80 east to cross the bay to Oakland.

Suddenly, an occupant of a black car jumps out of the vehicle – then breaks the rear window of another car and removes what appears to be a black bag.

Then the suspect – wearing a hooded sweatshirt and dark pants, with his back to the camera – jumps back to the black car, whose driver steps on the gas pedal and spins off down 8th Street, away from the traffic backup .

Two people are seen exiting the victimized car – but it is too late to stop the suspect. The video ends there.

The blatant crime clip was posted by a Twitter user named “Alex”, who simply wrote: “SF highway robbery – captured on my TeslaCam.”

Alex said he talked to the victims, who claimed they were photographers of real estate and had been followed since they left a photo shoot shortly before, reported KPIX-TV in San Francisco.

In a separate post, Alex directs his Twitter followers to a crowdfunding page that he says aims to raise money for victims.

The crowdfunding page claims that the victims lost about $ 7,000 in photography equipment.

It was not clear whether the police were notified or tracked down the suspects.
