Former Buffalo Bills quarterback Doug Flutie must have had some extra Flutie Flakes this morning.
During today’s Celebrity Sweat Flag Football tournament, Flutie won the WWE championship belt 24/7.
The premise of the title, as you can find out by name, is that it can be won at any time. WWE Superstar R-Truth has held the title many times since it was released. The fighter was one of many WWE superstars who participated in the flag football tournament on Saturday and at halftime, R-Truth was distracted by names like Cesaro, The Miz and Titus O’Neil. With the focus of R-Truth elsewhere, the former Bills defender rolled the fighter to the count of three. You can see the pin below.
Unfortunately for Flutie, the title’s reign was short-lived. R-Truth rolled Flutie to win the title for the 49th time.
Flutie played with Bills from 1998-2000. He made it to the Pro Bowl and won the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award in 1998 with Buffalo, while leading the team to an 8-3 record when he started. In 1999, Flutie went 10-5 as the team’s starting quarterback. He rested at the end and lost his initial playoff job to Rob Johnson, a decision that still upsets many Bills fans today.
