Xbox Series X Rumor Causes Possible Return of Classic Series

A new rumor sparked the possible return of a classic series on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Unlike the PlayStation and Nintendo, the Xbox doesn’t have an abundance of incredible IP. Have areola, Gears of war, Forza, Fable, and some other heavy hitters, but it is not enough to keep up with its biggest competitors. Once the acquisition of ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda, passes, and adds Fall, The Elder Scrolls, DOOM, Wolfenstein, and more for your IP arsenal, it may even go up, but until then, and for all its existence in the gaming space, Xbox has an IP problem.

That said, there is an IP that has value. Last year, it announced revivals for two of the biggest examples of this: Fable and Perfect Dingy. There is still more IP with which Microsoft could take something. For example, Killer Instinct. Go Killer Instinct always be as big as Street Fighter or Mortal combat? Probably not, but it is an IP with a lot of potential that Microsoft tried to revive on Xbox One, but after that unsuccessful attempt, it did not touch the series. However, this is apparently not due to a lack of desire.

During a recent episode of Xbox Two, Xbox insider Jez Corden revealed that he heard that Microsoft wants to make a new one Killer Instinct, but did not find the right partner to develop the game.

“I know that Microsoft wants to do Killer Instinct, said Corden. – It’s not like they didn’t want a sequel. They didn’t have anyone to do it, at least that’s what they told me. “

As noted earlier, Microsoft tried to bring Killer Instinct back from the grave in 2013 on Xbox One. However, not only did the revival fail to set the world on fire, but its developer, Double Helix Games, was acquired by Amazon not long after. When that happened, Iron Galaxy Studios stepped in to develop the second and third seasons of the game. That said, while Iron Galaxy Studios is a good studio, it’s not exactly an industry leader or a first-rate team, which could explain why they weren’t chosen for a sequel.

All that said, for now, take everything here with a grain of salt. Although the source in question has proven to be reliable in the past, nothing here is official and is not 100% clear if it is up to date.
