Netflix’s problematic series of documents Compliment this week, two more of his subjects were arrested in separate criminal cases related to alleged sexual misconduct involving minors.
Already recovering from similar charges against series star Jerry Harris, the show saw Robert Joseph Scianna Jr., a 25-year-old coach and choreographer, and Mitchell Ryan, a member of the Navarro College cheerleading team, arrested.
Scianna Jr. was arrested on Wednesday in Virginia and charged with the crime of taking indecent liberties with a child and using an electronic communication device to request sex. The Chesterfield County Police Department said he managed to find a young man he connected with on social media for sex.
Ryan was also arrested on Wednesday in Texas. Ryan, 23, was charged with aggravated sexual assault on a child in connection with an unspecified incident that allegedly occurred on July 24, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department records show.
“This has been a nightmare for Mitch and his family,” said Ryan’s lawyer, Jeremy Rosenthal. “We look forward to the Dallas County hearing the truth and this case is closed.”
Five months ago, cheerleader Harris was arrested and accused of requesting nude photos and sex of minors. He faces several criminal charges, including sexual exploitation of children and transportation with intent to illicit sexual conduct.
