Apex Legends devs testing more Loba fans for season 8

Apex Legends is just a real battle for now, but Respawn wants to make it so much more. As leaks emerged over a potential Team Deathmatch (TDM) mode, the developers have kept their lips sealed, but are indicating a major expansion soon.

While Respawn has worked to keep Apex Legends up to date with a number of limited-time game modes, they all focus on one thing – the Battle Royale genre. Loot pools or squad sizes may change, but the basic gameplay remains the same.

However, with Apex entering its third year on the market, Respawn is looking to make it much more. Rumors of expansion to other FPS genres within Apex Legends have been going on for some time and, in season 8, there is more validity now than ever.

Although the exact details remain closed, leaks are everywhere. A TDM-style mode was the first to reach players’ lips after data miners like ‘Shrugtal’ discovered smaller “arenas” that look perfect for the mode.

Now, Respawn is coming out with great tips about the future of Apex. Although they have not confirmed the exact modes that will come out soon – with developers avoiding saying “TDM” when asked by players – they are looking to make Apex Legends more than just a real battle.

“We’re always looking for ways to expand our Legends’s game spaces beyond Battle Royale. All I will say is that we have a lot of really cool prototypes underway, ”developer Brian ‘YaBoiBrian’ Vidovic told players on Reddit.
