“This is very low and potentially breaking the law,” Poloncarz told The Athletic on Friday.

Since the New Jersey Devils traveled to Buffalo to face the Sabers last weekend, the teams have had 22 players enrolled in the COVID-19 protocols. Sabers coach Ralph Krueger has a confirmed case.

“The NHL should have, in my view, taken more measures to ensure the safety of the players of both teams, as well as those around them,” said Poloncarz. “It looked like they were more interested in playing a game.”
