Arc System Works is (guilty) preparing for another beta test for Guilty Gear Strive. On February 18, the masses will be able to experience the game and several of its modes before the April 9 launch.
The company released details about the upcoming test this morning, sharing details about what all players will be able to access with the beta and when it will be live. Those who order the digital version of the game on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 will have the chance to play the beta one day before everyone else.
“The #GuiltyGearStrive Open Beta test will be available on # PS4 and # PS5 from 7 pm PST on 2/18 to 6:59 pm PST on 21/2,” said Arc System Works in Twitter. “Players who pre-order digitally will be able to download the Open Beta the day before, on 2/17, at 10am PST, and start playing from 7pm PST.”
Those who choose to enter the beta will be able to play as 13 of the 15 launch characters for Guilty Gear Strive. Anji Mito will not be accessible here, nor will the 15th fighter.
In terms of modes, Arc System Works is giving players the opportunity to try some of them. The Strive beta will feature local versus mode, tutorial, training mode and network mode.
The beta fights online will be played using netcode rollback, and ArcSys notes that you will be able to enjoy matches with “responsiveness comparable to offline matches”.
Included on the screen during beta matches will be some numbers at the top that indicate the ping time and the number of rollback frames that are appearing during a match. The company encourages beta testers to include the two numbers they see at the top of the screen when reporting problems with the online experience to better identify problems and improve the launch experience.
