We already knew a remake for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was being prepared and should be released next month. But if you’re waiting to play this long-awaited remake, you’ll have to wait a little longer, as the game has been delayed indefinitely, Ubisoft announced on Twitter today.
Ubisoft Pune, the Indian studio tasked with redoing one of the most popular entries in the series, said the reason for postponing the game again was to ensure that it gets extra development time that will allow the team to “deliver a remake that looks new while staying true to the original. ”
This is the second time that Ubisoft has postponed the release date of The sands of Time redo. The company originally planned to launch the game for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on January 21, when it was revealed last September. Ubisoft would then delay the game to March 18, attributing the COVID-19 pandemic as a reason to delay the title.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is not the only Ubisoft title delayed in recent months due to the pandemic. In October, Ubisoft announced that Far Cry 6 and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Quarantine would be postponed to fiscal year 2021, which means that the two titles mentioned are due to be released between April 2021 and March 2022
