Swearing, middle finger, sexualized content, Prince’s guitar and, yes, the wardrobe malfunction heard ‘all over the world.

The Super Bowl halftime show is no stranger to big and small controversies when it comes to the content of your show. His headliner this year, The Weeknd, promised Thursday that the Super Bowl LV show will be familiar.

Via USA Today:

“For sure, I definitely want to be respectful to the audience at home,” he said. “I will still incorporate part of the story. It is a very cohesive story that I have been telling throughout this era and throughout this year.

“So the story will continue, but we will definitely keep it PG for families.”

The Weeknd has not been averse to more adult content in the past, most notably its bloody appearance in the video for “Blinding Lights” and dressing in bandages in various public appearances, what he said was a statement about superficial culture and plastic surgery in Hollywood .

While the multi-platinum artist said he would keep things PG, he hinted that the show may feature a certain pirate ship in the final zone of Raymond James Stadium:

“This ship is so iconic. We are incorporating a little bit, but I don’t want to say much more. “

Given that The Weeknd reportedly spent $ 7 million of its own money to guarantee a good show, all of this should result in a show that is at least interesting.
