Mass Effect Legendary Edition ignores Pinnacle Station DLC

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition PS5 PS4

Mass Effect Legendary Edition will contain more than 40 pieces of DLC when it launches on PlayStation 4 in May, but the Pinnacle Station expansion for the first entry will not be part of the long list. That’s because the support team Demiurge Studios assembled it during the PlayStation 3 generation, and the data BioWare received when ordering it for the remastered collection was almost completely corrupted. The RPG developer says he really wanted to include Pinnacle Station in his plans for the complete remastering of Mass Effect, but the situation was taken out of his control.

In an interview with Game Informer, game director Mac Walters expanded the situation. He says that since the original code was no longer accessible, the team would need to completely redo the DLC from scratch to be included. “Basically, it would take us another six full months just to do this with most of the team we have. I wish we could do it. Honestly, just because it was meant to be everything the team has ever created, brought it back together – all the content single-player. And so, leaving everything in the editing room, it was heartbreaking. “

Pinnacle Station was essentially a combat arena located in a top-secret Alliance space station that consisted of 13 different challenges. Containing about three hours of gameplay, there was no content related to the story. You would unlock powerful weapons to use in the main game.

It is clear then that BioWare tried its best to include Pinnacle Station in its plans, but delaying the project by six months was simply not feasible. Still, there are more than 100 hours of content to experience as part of the legendary edition of Mass Effect, so it’s not the end of the world. The remastered collection will feature gameplay updates including “better aim and weapon balance, sound effects, better Mako controls, entry / controls, squad behavior, cover behavior and gameplay cameras” along with 60 frames per second on PlayStation 5 and PS4 Pro. Load times will also be much shorter and an expanded character creator will allow you to adapt Shepard to your individual needs.
