Could a successful NBA negotiation help two struggling teams that should be completed this season? Both the Miami Heat and the Golden State Warriors got off to an underwhelming start after entering the season with high hopes. Both could use to shake things up in the NBA’s negotiating deadline and this potential deal would do that.
For Golden State, they are looking to recover from a season that was hampered by injuries a year ago. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson lost time last season, which forced them to be one of the worst teams in the league and get the second overall choice.
The Warriors used this pick with James Wiseman, but received bad news the same night. Klay Thompson suffered a rupture in the Achilles tendon that will keep him out this season. Steph Curry averages 28.2 points per game, shooting well on the field and in the three-point range. He could use some help on the perimeter.
This is where Miami comes into play. It is a team that has a lot of talent in the perimeter and may be looking for some for a lap. Miami reached the finals surprisingly a year ago, but started inconsistently, led by Jimmy Butler, who lost time due to an injury but is back in the team. Players like Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro have stepped up in Butler’s absence. If they don’t want to get lost quickly, they can try to make a deal.
This trade would certainly shock some people, but as we saw last year, nothing is impossible. Let’s take a look at a possible blockbuster between Miami and Golden State.
