War zone players are sacrificing themselves to bring down stimulus glitchers • Eurogamer.net

Guess what’s back, back: that’s right, it’s Call of Duty: Warzone infamous stim glitch, which shows no sign of disappearing silently. After first appearing in October, the stimulus failure has returned several times – and according to reports from players in the past few days, it is back again. Although Raven acknowledged the failure’s return and promised a fix, until the patch arrives, players are once again taking matters into their own hands. That is, sacrificing himself to hunt stim glitchers hidden in the gas – for the good of everyone in the lobby.

The way the stimulus failure works is as follows: once a player has activated the failure (apparently now using a strange method of night vision goggles), he can generate infinite tactical items, including healing stimuli. This means that they can drive to Warzone’s gas and hide there until the end of the game, interrupting the game in the process and making the round really tedious.

To prevent this from happening, some heroic players – motivated by concern for other players or pure sheer fury – are hunting the stimulus glitchers, even if it means their own death. Some players started doing this last month, and as the failure returned, the stimulus failure hunters also returned. As you can see in the video below, this is usually done by taking a reward just before a circle begins to close, allowing the legitimate player to locate the glitcher in the gas. In the case of a Reddit user, the start of the gas journey was accidental – but they got the job done.

I discovered a little late that the reward I chased in the storm was a stimulus glitcher. I did what had to be done. from r / CODWarzone

In another video shared on Reddit, a player saw a stim glitcher who had (foolishly) chosen the Most Wanted contract and marked himself on the map. This time, the legitimate player parachuted into the gas to remove the unsuspecting vaporizer – despite being the last surviving member of the team.

The latter, however, managed to locate a stim user by activating his UAV, then using some quick thinking to jump into a vehicle and throw the stim user (who also carried a riot shield) on the ground. I think this was definitely a case of revenge.

More unusual, it appears that some are fighting fire with fire, using the stim glitch to hunt down the remaining stim glitchers at the end of a game, find their player tags and report them to Activision. YouTuber Animal Spence is one of those who try to beat the glitchers in their own game, as you can see in the final showdown of the video below. Just make sure you are not corrupted by the dark side while trying to destroy it, Animal Spence.

The Call of Duty subreddit is filled with videos of squads hunting for glitchers to win – but I think there is something particularly heroic about players sacrificing their chance of winning to eliminate stimmers. Or perhaps it shows the level of anger at this pernicious failure, which never seems to die.
