When Paula Abdul returned to Fox this year as a judge on The masked dancer, every Wednesday became an old school american idol nostalgia-fest, because his ex-idol co-star Randy Jackson also appeared that same night at Fox’s Name this tune. All that was needed was for Simon Cowell’s America have talent to move from NBC to Fox, to complete the virtual meeting. Well, it never happened. But a real life Idol meeting took place in the top five this Wednesday Masked dancer episode, when Exotic Bird removed its beak to reveal that it was in season 6 Idol champion Jordin Sparks.
“Seeing you and Paula together now, it gives chills to America now! exclaimed Masked dancer Judge Ken Jeong.
Paula was not shocked by this unmasking. While the Masked dancer the most astute vibeologist on the panel, she guessed that Exotic Bird was the “magnificent and incredible” Jordin for several weeks. “They told me that you would come here, and I was like, ‘Paula knows me! She knows! ‘You know how I’m onstage and all that, “laughed Jordin. And I love you so much. So I said, ‘She’ll know it’s me.’ “
However, Paula was pleasantly surprised by Jordin’s sweet tribute to the woman Jordin declared “one of my own idols”: a brave jazz routine for Paula’s own hit, “Opposites Attract”, complete with Jordin’s dance partner cosplaying as a sort of superheroic MC Skat Kat. Ah. I think Jordin is forever Paula’s girl, until 14 (!!!) years after becoming the youngest winner in American Idol history. And this is not fiction, just a natural fact.
“I’m sure it was very stressful, dancing to my music, but you nailed it,” said a delighted Paula, who was always the most friendly and encouraging of the three originals. american idol judges. Ken (who guessed that the Exotic Bird was another Idol former student, Jennifer Hudson) agreed, declaring this Jordin’s best performance so far. But unfortunately, although it seemed that Jordin was taking two steps forward in the competition, she finally took two steps back, with her cat and bird act failing to take her to the semifinals. Apparently, this was not her now.
I would say that Jordin may have had a better chance The masked singer, but that american idol star who already competed on that sister show, Chris “The Rottweiler” Daughtry, actually came in second. So who knows? In spite of everything, it seemed that Jordin felt like a winner again, just happy to have her post-pregnancy rhythm back and shake up her pity during this “liberating” experience.
Speaking of attraction of opposites, the remaining four anthropomorphic flora and fauna competitors – cotton candy, tulip, zebra and sloth – have little in common, except the desire to win the Diamond Mask trophy in a few weeks. We will evaluate your latest performances and continue the guessing game.
The tulip
The beautiful frug of this flower in “My Boyfriend’s Back” once again showed its versatility, ability to catch any type of choreography and adorable personality. “You did comedy, you had fun, you had heart and you had skills,” Ken raved. If there is anyone in the top four who is a professional dancer, it is that competitor with stellar stems.
The clues: We saw iced coffee, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a family-sized bag of chips. She revealed that she acted throughout her life, and her verbal tip was “conquest for life” (said in a very young voice). Previous clues included references to Instagram and TikTok, a “Second Annual Mother-Daughter Dance”, the acronym “ALDC” and the words “frozen” and “princess”.
Judges’ guesses: Liza Koshy, Haylie Duff, Jamie Lynn Spears.
My guesses: Ok this is totally Mackenzie Ziegler, Social Media Specialist – Lifetime Series Star Dance Moms (Abby Lee Dance Company = “ALDC”) and the film Ice Princess Lily, Maddie Ziegler’s younger sister, and well-known consumer of iced coffee and PB&J. Some of the judges were on the right track when they guessed it was a famous sister, but they went with the wrong families.
The zebra
Although this striped superstar was not technically perfect, it was surprisingly light. And no one could say that he has not fully committed himself to this key to a song by the famous Exotic Bird ex, Jason Derulo. “You may not be the best dancer, but you always have more fun,” noted Judge Brian Austin Green.
The clues: We saw the number 1992 and a $ 1,000 bill being tossed into a bucket of “Good Will” charity donations, and he was described as a “fighter” with “0 percent body fat” and “muscles like concrete blocks” . He has fans in “two countries” rooting for him, and he is also an author. Previous clues have mentioned the Grammys, sports medals and their status as a “ZEO” and “champion” who is “known for a hook”.
Judges’ guesses: Oscar De La Hoya, Conor McGregor, Floyd Mayweather, Barry Bonds.
My guess: This is totally Mexican-American boxing champion (and double citizen) De La Hoya. His self-titled 2000 Latin pop album was nominated for a Grammy, he won an Olympic medal in 1992, is the head of Golden Boy Promotions and the author of the children’s book Super Oscar, and also won a medal in the 1990 Goodwill Games This guess is a TKO!
The laziness
Sloth is not as lazy as he looks! As Paula pointed out, it took a lot of skill to perform this intricately staged and synchronized Bollywood flash mob number, which featured dozens of extras and various props. It looks like your connection to “Broadway” really paid off this week.
The clues: He is a “showman” who tours all the time and is “usually the protagonist” and “all drama”. His “mom raised him right” and he “speaks three languages”, but he also “always looks in the mirror” and “thinks it’s sex on a stick”. Other clues this week included a panda bear and the word “pink”, and previous clues included elephants, sports equipment, a boombox, a cruise ship, Joyand Mickey Mouse.
Judges’ guesses: Bradley Cooper, Harry Shum Jr., Hugh Jackman, Jack Black.
My guess: I have already speculated that Preguiça is ex- american idol competitor Todrick Hall or former Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth, with little confidence in either case. I’m starting to think that this could be a really trained dancer, maybe a Dancing with the stars professional veteran, trying to keep viewers away from the smell of Preguiça with his exaggerated amateur antics. So, I’m going to try to guess that this is Maks Chmerkovskiy, who partnered with Amber Rose in DWTS and can speak English, Russian and Ukrainian. But if this is Maks, judging from his Sloth alter ego, he could have a second act career in comedy. He is Hilarious!
Cotton candy
This sweet girl’s adorable hip-hop / ballet routine was pure Swan Lake style. Creative choreography (which started on the wings, backstage, before she made the leap to the main stage), perfect pirouettes, lithe leg extensions and high heels were all the hallmarks of a fit competitive athlete. “You are the only one to win now,” proclaimed Ken.
The clues: We saw a red, white and blue sash, a superhero cape and a gold watch, and his verbal tip was “prayer”. Previous clues included more gold (notably five gold rings), lips, many mentions of the word “ice” and the fact that it appeared in the public eye at a young age.
Judges’ guesses: Tara Lipinski, Julianne Hough, Kristi Yamaguchi, Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Hayden Panettiere.
My guess: With all these Olympic and icy references added to the new “prayer” track, I must stick to my hunch that this is the gold medalist for devout American and Catholic skating Tara Lipinski. And she is really looking for gold this season – this competition is hers or Tulip’s to lose.
