Florida’s number 22 went through a rough patch when striker Keyontae Johnson saw his season end early because of heart problems, but the Gators are in the middle of a four-game winning streak that includes wins over 11th Tennessee and the 17th West Virginia. They will host South Carolina on Wednesday in the hope of extending their ascension.
Florida (10-4, 6-3) is second behind Alabama in the SEC, and has not lost to a conference opponent since falling to the state of Mississippi by three points in mid-January. Four alligators have an average of double digits in points, and Tre Mann emerged as his top scorer and assistant. The full Florida team has been able to get the job done without a nice guy lately and will try to stay on top against a South Carolina team that is struggling to get results.
The Gamecocks (4-6, 2-4) lost four of the last five games and occupied seventh place in the SEC. Scoring and assisting leader AJ Lawson will be crucial to keeping South Carolina in this game, but he will need the help of Keyshaun Bryant and Jermaine Couisnard. Can South Carolina get back on track with a big win over one of the hottest teams in the conference?
