After its social media platform was practically wiped off the web, Parler CEO and cofounder John Matze said he was fired by his company’s own board of directors, according to a memo obtained by Fox News and a confirmation by message text sent to Reuters.
Parler, of course, is the social network that has found itself totally deplored after its role in the January 6 riots on the United States Capitol. Both Apple and Google removed the app from their app stores after being dissatisfied with the company’s attempts to moderate the spread of requests for violence. Amazon has decided to completely end hosting the company’s AWS website. And although Parler tried to sue Amazon, a judge denied his request to reinstate his website.
On January 10, Matze told Fox News that all of the company’s suppliers – and even his lawyers – had abandoned him.
Today, Matze says he was sacked by a board led by Rebekah Mercer and “has met with constant resistance to my product vision”, according to his memo. It may also have something to do with the company being harmed under your supervision. In addition to the difficulties of simply staying connected to the internet, it came to the fore that Parler may have had some privacy issues. The researchers were able to extract a huge amount of content from users, including their geo-tagged locations and videos, which were later converted into interactive maps of the attack on the Capitol building, which proved that many Parler users were involved.
The House Oversight Committee even called for an FBI investigation into Parler’s involvement in the attack on the Capitol.
Parler currently has a website again thanks to hosting services from Epik, a company that also supports controversial sites like Gab and 8chan, and although Parler originally suggested there that he hoped to “welcome you all soon”, the website has mostly been a timeline of complaints about how the company has been treated unfairly. Matze hasn’t been there since Monday, January 26th. His last post was a Bernie Sanders meme:

Parler did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
