South Carolina woman wins COVID-19 and celebrates 107 years two weeks later

A resident home in Chester County, South Carolina, celebrated its 107th birthday – talking to the family behind a glass wall.

Fox 46 reported that Margaret Hoyle turned 107 on Friday – she was born on January 29, 1914.

Surprisingly, the report said that Hoyle lived alone until last July, when she fell and broke her hip.

Even more surprising was the fact that this 107-year-old lady – just two weeks before her birthday – survived COVID-19.

The report quoted Hoyle, who said: “I am 107 years old today and I beat COVID.”

It was a cause for celebration.

There were many birthday cards.

Fox 46 noted that his family had asked other family members and friends to write Hoyle a “personalized birthday message” – in the hope of receiving 107 cards – a goal that they easily exceeded.

To celebrate, the report said that Hoyle shared a cake with his family, friends and the nursing staff, who sang Happy Birthday to you ā€- talking to her with the help of a karaoke microphone.
