Publix Supermarkets Announce More Vaccine Doses In Select South Carolina Stores


SOUTH CAROLINA (CN2 NEWS) – Publix supermarkets on Wednesday announcing more doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in select South Carolina stores. York County is among the places where the vaccine will be distributed. Publix Corporate offices released the following information:

Publix is ​​receiving more doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to administer to eligible individuals at 24 Publix pharmacies in South Carolina. Vaccines will be provided to eligible individuals by appointment only from Saturday, February 6, while supplies last. Some Publix pharmacies included in the previous distribution were not included at this time; however, they may receive doses of the vaccine in the future.

Eligibility

According to state guidelines, vaccines can be administered to health professionals, individuals aged 70 or over, residents and employees of long-term care facilities, caregivers of clinically fragile children with a certificate signed by a medical provider to confirm that a caregiver meets the criteria and employees and contractors of the South Carolina state / local government that are essential for administering vaccines and COVID-19 tests.

Vaccines are only provided by appointment, while supplies last, through the online reservation system at publix.com/covidvaccine. The system will open on Thursday, February 4, at 6 am Eastern Time, for scheduling times starting on Saturday, February 6. It is not possible to schedule appointments by calling Publix or the Publix Pharmacy.

Publix Pharmacy will administer the vaccine in the following counties while supplies last: Aiken, Anderson, Beaufort, Charleston, Dorchester, Greenville, Greenwood, Horry, Jasper, Lancaster, Lexington, Pickens, Richland, Spartanburg and York. Costs and insurance

Vaccines are provided to eligible individuals, by appointment only, while supplies last, and at no cost to the individual.
