The first review of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser Fury was published by the Japanese publication Famitsu. The verdict comes just over a week before the game’s official release.
Famitsu’s scoring system has four different reviewers rating the game out of ten; in this case, the journal’s reviewers opted for scores of nine, nine, eight and ten, resulting in an overall score of 36/40 (thanks, Ryokutya2089 / VGC).
As noted by VGC, Famitsu awarded the original Wii U version of Super Mario 3D World a score of 38/40, a score slightly higher than the publication attributed to the new Switch game. The review allegedly calls Bowser’s Fury mode “a lot of fun”, while praising the challenge and replayability of the new mode and the online functionality offered in the base game.
We will have our own analysis of the game for you a little closer to the launch of the game, so be sure to stay tuned to read our thoughts. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser Fury will be released exclusively on the Switch on February 12th – and you can order it now.
