Folding chairs and orange construction cones are just a few of the items residents will use to reclaim their space.
“Salva” is an unspoken rule in most neighborhoods, although you are not allowed to save a parking space in the city – it is the law.
George Harvey says he has no problem moving the cone.
“Ah, yes, I’m going to move them. I don’t think that’s right. Everyone digs,” said Harvey.
In southern Philadelphia, it is no secret that parking is the main one.
“Parking is often difficult. With snow, it becomes more difficult ”, said a resident.
During inclement weather, residents often resort to traditional methods.
“I used a cone before. (It’s) definitely the best way to go. I see a lot of people doing this, so why not participate?” said South Philly resident Tommy Dempsey.
The city is reminding residents that it is forbidden to save on parking. Those who are digging up their vehicles are being asked not to throw snow on the street.
