With his new season on less than a day, Apex Legends already brings news to the players. The battle royale game developed by Respawn Entertainment is heading to Nintendo Switch on March 9. The developer announced the port’s release date with a short post on the game’s website.
The Nintendo Switch version of Apex Legends will be co-developed by Respawn and Panic Button. Although this may be the smallest platform Apex has already been released in, it does not mean that this version will have something missing from its larger console and PC counterparts. The Nintendo Switch version will include all the features of the full-size version of the Apex, including multiplatform game. To help compensate for the slightly different controls, size and technical limitations of the platform, the Switch version of Apex Legends will feature some exclusive optimizations to align it with the other versions of the game.
Apex Legends Season 8 also started on Tuesday, which means that the Switch version of the game will be released in the middle of the season. All season 8 content will be included in the Switch version at launch, and Switch players will receive 30 levels of current battle pass updates free of charge, to make up for the late start. Switching players will also receive double XP in the first two weeks after the game’s release.
Similar to other platforms, Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch you will be free to play.
