Matt James is talking about the controversy around Bachelor competitor Rachael Kirkconnell.
Since the debut of the 25th season of the ABC dating series, Bachelor Nation fans criticized the alleged previous behavior of the graphic designer on social networks. Besides that, a TikTok user, who claimed she went to Rachael school, said she bullied her.
At the moment, the 24-year-old star has not yet publicly commented on the charges against her. However, it is important to note that most Bachelor contestants are usually unable to comment on fan comments while the show is still live.
After the Monday night episode, Matt talked about the online reaction that the Georgia native received in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“I haven’t spoken to anyone since the end of the program, but I would say that you have to be very careful with what you’re doing on social media,” he explained about the allegations on February 2. “The rumors are dark and unpleasant and can ruin people’s lives. So I would give people the benefit of the doubt and, hopefully, they’ll have time to talk about it.”
The bachelor 2021: Meet the women of the Matt James season
“There is a lot out there about the women who were involved in the show,” said the 29-year-old. “I would just give them a chance to have their share, be it someone who left one night or someone who went home last night.”
He added: “Everyone has a story and I would be receptive to it.”
The bachelor star is not just saying what to say. In last night’s episode on February 1, Matt sent several women home, including some who were described as aggressors by other contestants.
But if the Monday night episode were any indication, two things were made very clear: Matt is not tolerating any drama and Rachael is proving to be a vanguard.
In fact, the duo had their first individual meeting, in which the graphic designer went on a shopping spree. When she cried over her new Christian Louboutin heels, Matt was taken aback and looked even more in love with her.
After dinner, Matt admitted that he could see himself falling in love with Rachael and proposing to her.
“I think the group’s first meeting was when she really caught my eye …” Matt said ET of his instant attraction to Rachael. “This has been a steady progression … since the first week. It was a feeling I didn’t feel, and … this is nothing that [producers are] telling me to say or do, it’s just that I felt it at the time and had never felt it before. “
Of course, it is too early to say who will win the heart of the reality show personality. But if you need to remember which competitors are still up for grabs, E! News covers you. Click here.
The bachelor airs on Mondays at 8 pm on ABC.
