Ram trash talks about Ford on Twitter before the launch of the new F-150 Raptor

The truck war hit Twitter.

Ford is preparing to launch the latest version of its high-performance F-150 Raptor off-road pickup on Wednesday, but rival Ram is not offering it.

The Raptor was originally launched in 2010 and had no direct competition until the Ram 1500 TRX debuted in 2021 with the most powerful engine ever offered in a production pickup. The 702 hp supercharged V8 surpassing the Raptor’s latest 450 hp turbocharged V6.

Ram made this point in a response to Ford’s post announcing Raptor’s next reveal that said “I AM THE COVER”.

Ford has not indicated what type of engine the new Raptor will feature, so it remains to be seen whether it is trying to compete with the TRX on that front. The TRX offers handling and handling capabilities similar to the previous Raptor, however, with a heavier weight than the Ford with aluminum body that the extra power helps to compensate. However, there are rumors that Ford is planning a version of the Raptor that borrows the 760 hp supercharged V8 from the Mustang Shelby GT500.

This is not the first time that a Stellantis brand has tried to rain at a Ford show. Last July, Jeep debuted the 470 hp Wrangler Rubicon 392 with a V8 engine just hours before Ford’s long-awaited Bronco 2021 reveal, which will only be offered with four- and six-cylinder turbo engines … for now.
