Devin Booker knew he had made a three point jump forward as soon as the ball left his outstretched right hand on Monday night.

Booker, who finished the night with 24 points in his first game back after an absence of four games due to injury, proved to be correct in his assessment.

That jump gave the Suns a 109-108 lead over Dallas Mavericks’ hometown, with 1.5 seconds to go.

Booker’s shot would be the basket of victory, as the Suns would win their second victory in three days over the Mavericks by that same score.

The winning jump of the throwing guard’s game crowned an up and down throwing performance, 9 to 19, which helped Suns make several twists during the last quarter of the competition.

Booker ended Monday’s contest with four three points from eight attempts, joining goalkeeper Chris Paul to hit a quartet of kicks behind the hoop in victory.

Booker’s heroism at the end of the game helped the Suns improve their record for the year to 11-8, closing the series of three games for the two teams this season.

It all came to a dramatic conclusion with an unbalanced kick that just passed the outstretched arms of Mavericks guard Josh Richardson.

It was a shot that hit nothing but the net, giving Suns fans a reason to celebrate on Monday night.
