DC’s health director, Dr. LaQuandra Nesbitt, warned residents on Monday not to be fooled by offers to purchase a private dose of vaccine.
There is a coronavirus vaccine scheme out there, and district officials want Washington residents to be on the alert.
DC’s health director, Dr. LaQuandra Nesbitt, warned residents on Monday not to be fooled by offers to purchase a private dose of vaccine.
Vaccines and vaccine suppliers must be examined and approved by the DC Department of Health.
“And the only places where you can get a vaccine are in hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, doctors’ offices and clinics authorized on site by a registered and approved provider,” said Nesbitt.
“There are no external sales of vaccines, no one will have to buy a vaccine for the price and have it administered by someone who considers himself a health care provider or not.”
She asked people who saw the coup or who were contacted and offered to buy a vaccine that they would call the DC police at 202-727-4159.
“We want to ensure that all of our residents have equal access to vaccines in the District of Columbia. And we like all scams to be reported, ”said Nesbitt.
