Netflix is in talks to make a film based on the Wall Street GameStop’s kerfuffle stock, according to a Deadline report.
Mark Boal, the writer of Detroit and Triple Frontier, is in negotiations to write the unnamed film. Noah Centineo, the actor behind the role of teen heartthrob in many Netflix movies like For all the boys I’ve loved before, will play an important role. No other roles in the cast have been announced.
Note that this project is different from the news that MGM has acquired the rights to an unwritten book by Ben Mezrich on GameStop stock. These are two separate films.
GameStop’s stock price remains volatile after a week in which it reached a $ 347.51 high, capturing the attention of the main news. The price is fluctuating wildly because of a tug of war between institutional investors who short sell their shares and Reddit-organized day traders determined to keep their shares and raise their price.
At the time of publication, the share price was $ 249.11, still more than 10 times its value earlier this month. The increase in people buying short shares continued with other companies on their luck, such as AMC and Nokia.
The brokerage app Robinhood, which has been a favorite tool of so-called “meme stock” brokers, began limiting purchases of such stock last week. But shareholders are encouraging each other to continue to hold on to send $ GME to the moon.
