With even more benefits in retrospect, the results don’t look very good for Gamecocks. The 2017 group was Muschamp’s first full class after he was hired in late 2015 and brought together a fast transition class in 2016. A year of flag recruitment in 2017 could have established the South Carolina base under a new head coach.
