PEMBROKE PARK, Florida – During the pandemic, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis stood firm on wearing masks. In November, he extended his executive order that prohibited local governments from imposing violations of the mask mandate.
Now, at least with regard to public transport, there is no longer a fine line about wearing a mask. From Monday at 11:59 pm, if you’re inside an airport, on a bus, train, ferry or ship, or taking a ride like Uber, Lyft or taxi, it’s a federal policy to use a face cover.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued an 11-page order on Saturday that requires travelers to wear masks to prevent the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19.
A scarf, ski mask or headband is not classified as a suitable cover for the face, nor is the collar of the shirt or sweater pulled up over the mouth and nose. And for users who like the coverage just under the nose, this is also prohibited. Masks should be used to cover the mouth and nose, says the CDC.

The CDC is directing those responsible for public transport and other centers to ensure that everyone is wearing a mask when entering or on their premises.
“This order must be followed by all passengers on public means of transportation (for example, airplanes, ships, ferries, trains, subways, buses, taxis, hitchhikers) traveling to, within or outside the United States, as well as transportation operators (for example, crew, drivers, drivers and other workers involved in the operation of means of transport) and operators of transport centers (for example, airports, bus or ferry terminals, train or subway stations, seaports, ports of entry ) or any other area that provides transportation in the United States. “
See the CDC guidelines below.
