Deputy GOP Kinzinger launches new PAC to alienate Trump’s Republican Party.

Congressman Adam Kinzinger, one of 10 Republicans in the House of Representatives who voted for Donald Trump’s impeachment, launched a political action committee to challenge the former president’s continued influence in the Republican Party. Kinzinger spoke about the new Country First PAC in an interview on NBC’s Meet the press as well as a campaign-type video posted online. “This is not a Trump-first party. This is a party that prioritizes the country, ”said Kinzinger. “This is a time of choice.”

In the video, Kinzinger said there was a direct link between the “poisonous conspiracies and lies” that the Republican Party embraced with the Capitol rebellion earlier this month. “The Republican Party has lost its way,” says the Illinois congressman in the video. “Republicans must say enough. It is time to turn off the outrage machine, reject the politics of personality and set aside conspiracy theories and anger. ”With PAC, Kinzinger wants Republicans to take a step back. “Let’s take a look at the past four years, how badly we got there,” he said in Meet the press. “How we look back, how much we sell darkness and division. And this is not the party I signed up for. And I think that most Republicans did not sign up for it. ”

During the interview, Kinzinger also described the setback he suffered from voting for Trump’s impeachment. “Look, it’s really difficult. I mean, suddenly imagine everyone who supported you, or it looks like your friends, your family have turned against you.
