Heavy rain on the way later today!

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – A mild afternoon with peaks from mid to over 60 years. A strong cold front will approach Lowcountry later this afternoon / evening. Expect a constant rain at the end of the day, the rain will be heavy at times. It will also be wind, sustained between 10-20 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph at times. It can be difficult to drive on some higher bridges / viaducts. The more constant rain will decrease during the night, but some showers will last on Monday, as the system goes out. Total precipitation around 2.5 cm until Monday, most of it falling on Sunday night. It gets much colder from Monday to Wednesday with highs close to 50 degrees, however, it will be dry. Warming up to the end of the week before another cold front, the highs approach 70 degrees on Friday.
