Sunday morning snow will be widespread, with a few more inches of accumulation around 8 am. Snow will decrease in the early afternoon for inland areas, but will remain close to the lake. The lake-enhanced snow will continue from Sheboygan through Kenosha in the afternoon, with scattered snow holding up until night to Racine and Kenosha counties. Sunday will be another windy day with gusts of 35 mph. Sunday highs will be in the 30s, but it will get colder due to the wind.
Large waves will form on Lake Michigan, 7 to 10 feet, and with an onshore wind, some minor flooding and erosion are possible.
In total, the amount of snow near the lake will be greater than in inland areas. Jefferson, Dodge and Fond du Lac counties will likely see 2-6 “of snow, while closer to the lake, we expect 6-10”. It will be heavy, wet snow, so be careful when working with the shovel and take frequent breaks.
