Chelsea Vaughn replied to Bachelor Nation’s Kaitlyn Bristowethe apologies for your insensitive comments about Chelsea’s vulnerable conversation about her hair in The bachelor.
Earlier this week, Chelsea, who are competing for Matt James‘heart on the reality show, open to the protagonist of a group meeting about his hair experience. The catwalk model, who shakes her shaved head, talked about how she made that style decision after struggling with the insecurities around her braids.
“I just think that as women, and especially as black women, much of our self-esteem is linked to our hair,” explained the 29-year-old. “And I don’t know if a lot of people realize or understand that, especially when it comes to black women, and that was really really important to me, so it’s obviously something that I wanted to share with someone that I’m potentially going to end up with.”
In the Instagram stories right after the episode aired, Kaitlyn tried to relate her own experience with her hair to Chelsea’s while promoting a hair vitamin, leading to the reaction of people who pointed out that Kaitlyn didn’t realize how Chelsea’s run took her to face a lot of discrimination about your hairstyle.
