FF7 Remake 2 Story will continue to go beyond the player’s expectations

The developers of the unnamed Final Fantasy 7 Remake sequel are strongly suggesting that the game will continue to rewrite history.

The developers of the next Final Fantasy VII Remake – Part 2 said the game goes beyond players’ expectations, so fans shouldn’t expect a direct remake of the sections outside of Midgar. Final Fantasy 7 RemakeThe ending of ‘dramatically changed the course of the original story, and it looks like things will continue to be different going forward.

Instead of running away from Midgar and promising to hunt Sephiroth, as in the original Final Fantasy VII, the cast of Final Fantasy VII Remake battle against the literal manifestations of destiny. After breaking free of that fate, they fight Sephiroth, giving Aerith her first chance to attack the one who killed her in the original timeline. The timeline is then altered, suggesting (but not confirming) that Jessie and Zack are still alive. The ending is not exactly clear as to its meaning and we will have to wait a few years before learning more about this new timeline.

The unnamed string of Final Fantasy VII Remake is currently in development, but fans have yet to learn any concrete information about its content. Final Fantasy VII Remake Producer Yoshinori Kitase and co-director Naoki Hamaguchi appeared during the CEDEC + KYUSHU 2020 online program and discussed the next sequence with surprising length, keeping specific details secret. His comments were translated into English by Aitaikimochi on twitter. According to Kitase, the Final Fantasy VII Remake sequence goes beyond the player’s expectations. The developers say they want to make a game that matches the original expectations of the fans, yet still managing to subvert those expectations and surprise the players.

Final Fantasy VII Remake heavily expanded in the Midgar section of the original game, including bringing characters from the novels into cameos. The full scope of the changes was not clear until the final controversy, leading to speculation that the next game will now go in an even more drastically different direction. In the original, Cloud’s group travels to the city of Kalm after leaving Midgar; now that the characters are free from the original timeline, they can theoretically go out and do whatever Square Enix wants.

In a way, it has never been a more exciting time to be a Final Fantasy VII fan. Many players complained about the changes to the plot and how the ending is unclear, without knowing how much the plot has changed. However, it just means that they have a few more years to reflect on these changes and speculate on what will happen next while they wait. It is possible that the game could feature new playable characters and even confirm some long-standing fan theories about the original game, and Aerith could survive this time with the defeated Whisper Harbinger. Players probably won’t know for a while, but if Square Enix has proven anything with its recent revision of the classic JRPG, it is that it is able to surprise players in Final Fantasy VII Remake – Part 2.
