‘Saturday Night Live’ under pressure at first post-trump show – Deadline

Saturday Night Live no longer has Donald Trump or Richard Nixon to kick. This can spell trouble.

Actor / director John Krasinski is the presenter of this week’s first SNL show after a month-long hiatus. Krasinski, musical guest Machine Gun Kelly and cast member Heidi Gardner are aware of the high-risk situation they face, as reflected in a previously launched promotion.

“Big week, big week,” says Gardner, with Krasinski adding: “But no pressure”.

“No, I’m saying there is a lot of pressure,” says Gardner. “It’s the first show back, the first show in 2021, the first show since Trump.”

Kelly then adds: “No, no, no. She is right. You better be funny. “
