The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is being released earlier than we thought, or at least that’s what a new release date leak indicates. Since Nintendo announced the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite game at E3 2019, we haven’t seen or heard anything about the new Zelda game and sequel to the 2017 bestseller, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. And with rumors that Nintendo is holding the game for the launch of the Nintendo Super Switch, many Nintendo fans have slowly but surely prepared for another year of silence. However, it seems that Nintendo fans may have lost hope too soon.
According to the Austrian retailer Gameware, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 will be launched sometime during the 2nd quarter of 2021, that is, between April 1st and June 1st. Unfortunately, the retailer does not disclose anything more specific and, of course, it is possible that this is just a marker / guess or the retailer simply looking for some extra traffic on the site.
Interestingly, the retailer also lists a launch window for Shin Megami Tensei 3 Nocturne Remaster, claiming that the game will be released in May this year.

Since we didn’t hear anything salient about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 in almost two years it makes the release of the second quarter unlikely, however, many rumors have been adamant about the game’s release this year. That said, if it comes out in the second quarter, it will have to be announced soon. It will be one of the greatest Nintendo games of the generation, and it will certainly want to do proper marketing before it crashes.
For now, take everything here with a grain of salt. If this were a list from Amazon or Best Buy, there would be little room for doubt, but smaller, region-specific retailers like this are known for keeping placeholders and looking for traffic with inaccurate dates and windows.
At the time of publication, no parties involved – Nintendo or Gameware – commented on the possible leak. If that changes, we’ll be sure to update the story. However, to get more coverage on everything related to Nintendo and Nintendo Switch, click here or continue to the links below:
