Former US Congressman Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii has warned that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Is essentially playing with fire with her recent comments “the enemy is inside”
Pelosi told reporters that he thinks Congress will need to provide money “for more security for members, when the enemy is inside the House of Representatives, a threat that worries members”.
The comments were a reaction to the January 6 riot on Capitol Hill and subsequent security measures to protect lawmakers.
Asked to clarify what she meant, Pelosi said: “This means that we have members of Congress who want to bring weapons to the ground and have threatened violence against other members of Congress.”

During a Friday night appearance on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle”, Gabbard – a Democrat who decided not to seek re-election to the House when he ran for president in 2020 – said it was “incredibly dangerous” for Pelosi to speak like that when the country is “on the edge” and divided.
“This kind of broad and inflammatory rhetoric is like throwing a match into the powder box,” she said.
“What spokesman Pelosi is saying is a very serious thing. If there is evidence to support what she is saying … it is true, this is a legal issue for law enforcement.”
Gabbard said that while in the Chamber, an individual repeatedly made threats against his life and the police briefly indicated and condemned the suspect.

“What Nancy Pelosi is talking about is a crime of terrorist threat – and if it is true, it must be reported to the authorities. Members of Congress are not above the law,” she said.
Hostess Laura Ingraham asked Gabbard if Pelosi was being intentionally inciting.
“If you think there is someone among the Republican caucus planning to assassinate Nancy Pelosi or other members of Congress, it could bring violence against these individuals,” she said.
“That’s the problem here. If this is a [criminal threat], let law enforcement handle it, “Gabbard replied.” If there is no evidence of what she is talking about, it is potentially inciting more division and more damage and further destroying the possibility of our country coming together. “
