Royal Rumble’s announcement plans for the WWE Backstage special preview have been modified.
It was announced on tonight’s SmackDown that the special preview will now reveal the fighters who will enter the men’s Royal Rumble match in numbers one and two. There will also be an exclusive WWE Backstage fight between Natalya and Tamina in the visualization special, with the winner entering the Royal Rumble women’s fight last at number 30.
The special preview was originally set to reveal the first and second participants for the women’s Royal Rumble and the 30th participant for the men’s Royal Rumble.
The WWE Backstage Royal Rumble preview special will air on FS1 at 8 pm Eastern Time this Saturday night. It is being hosted by Renee Paquette, Booker T and Paige and will also feature “Fox exclusive interviews and guests”.
This will be the first episode of WWE Backstage since the weekly production of the show ended in June of last year. It was noted at the time that the show could return for special episodes involving major WWE events.
The WWE Backstage preview special will also air on FS1 at midnight Eastern Time and 5pm Eastern Sunday afternoon, which is the day of the Royal Rumble.
