Walt Disney World updated its facial coverage policy to include guidelines on transparent face masks. Read the updated policy below:
Facial covers can have an integrated transparent plastic panel to assist in visualizing the user’s mouth. These facial covers must be a facial fabric cover with a solid plastic panel that does not contain openings that are attached to the fabric on all sides using tight mesh stitching. They must also meet all the facial coverage requirements outlined for regular facial masks.
As masks have been more widely produced, transparent masks have grown in popularity, especially for those who are hearing impaired and may need to read their lips. The transparent masks are different from a plastic face shield, which guests can only wear while wearing a mask.
Walt Disney World also updated its policy to specify that anyone who has received a COVID-19 vaccine must still wear a face mask.
