Florida State got an appointment from Neptune Beach (Florida) Duncan U. Fletcher three stars junior weak defensive end Aaron Hester Thursday afternoon. Hester made the engagement public on his 17th birthday.
The decision to choose FSU was an easy one for the 6-foot-3, 221-pound defender.
“Mike Norvell, the way he approached me at the beginning of my recruitment, was like nobody did. Just like he said he believed me. It was like nobody did, “said Hester.
Hester is the son of ex-Seminole Ron Hester. He said that being a legacy was not an integral part of his decision.
“It didn’t have much to do with my father, but of all the schools and offers, I trust them more,” he shared about FSU.
Although he did not feel pressured to follow in his father’s footsteps, his decision filled him with joy.
“He is very excited and not only because he was there, the main reason he is excited is because it is my decision and what I want to do. It didn’t take any persuasion from him, ”said Hester.
Hester did his best job in high school working as a pass rusher. FSU sees it in a similar way.
“They see me as a top player in the box, almost like a Nolan Smith”Said Hester.
Last season, in eight games, he recorded 53 tackles, 10.5 sacks, four pass separations. He also had 150 running yards and four touchdowns in the attack.
He is the fourth FSU appointment in his 2022 class. The class is tending to be a Top 10 class and he has joined some top players. While FSU is coming out of a season that has only had three wins, Hester believes the future is moving in the right direction at Tallahassee.
“I see myself in that future and I think it’s brilliant,” said Hester.

He chose FSU over Miami, State of Mississippi and countless other offers.
