Ben Higgins and his fiancee Jessica Clarke can’t wait to get married!
The happy couple, who announced on Instagram last March that they were engaged, have been looking forward to their big day since Higgins knelt down. But, like many people, Higgins and Clarke had to postpone their wedding day until 2021 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
“I mean, it’s been a year now that it’s going backwards now,” Higgins, who started dating Clarke in 2018 after he joined his Instagram DMs, told People. “I am making this commitment that I have been ready to make with her for a long time and it is being postponed.”
While the first Bachelor star, 31, says he “missed out” on most of the wedding planning, he admits it has been difficult for his future bride.

“I think it has been very difficult for Jessica,” says Higgins. “I think the hard part is just having it in your head, like, ‘We could plan this, and maybe it couldn’t happen. It could be changed completely. ‘ This is hard. It is also trying to plan for the grandparents to come, with luck, so they can be there to celebrate with us. I think that’s the most stressful part, just not knowing. “
The lovebirds, who recently bought a home together in Colorado, previously revealed their decision not to have sex until their wedding night. However, they did not imagine that they would be waiting that long.
“It wasn’t ideal for us in the last year,” says Higgins. “Because obviously, as I said, the plans have changed dramatically in the last year. That was not part of our plan, to wait a year and a half. It had to happen because of COVID.”

“We are still planning a wedding, if it doesn’t, we are still getting married,” said Higgins Extra. “It will be in November, we don’t have an exact date, but it will be in November this year”.
As Higgins prepares to get married, he says 2021 is his year to “really represent love”. For Valentine’s Day, he partnered with a wine company Campo Viejo to give 10 luck Bachelor fans and their Galentines the opportunity to win a personalized video message.

“We spent most of our relationship apart, doing long distance,” Higgins told People. “So being together is not what I think it is for most couples. For us, it’s a big deal.”
“We are going to sit by the fire in the house, which is a really romantic setting, and we are just going to absorb it. It will be the first time that we are back, ”he says. “We are going to dive into the fact that this is our next chapter. And I think it will be a very special day.”
