At this point, most of the major live service games have received some sort of update to take advantage of the Xbox Series X / S and PS5, but Ubisoft and The Division 2 by Massive Entertainment were an exception. Fortunately, that changes next week. Although The Division 2 does not receive a full version of the latest generation, it will receive an update to run at 4K / 60fps via backward compatibility on next generation consoles. This was confirmed by Ubisoft community manager Johan Lindholm in a response to a fan who asked when new information from Division 2 was coming …
No situation tomorrow.
TU12.1 will launch on February 2 with the Resident Evil Apparel event, a rebalancing of the Optimization Station cost, as well as support for 4K 60 FPS for next generation consoles.

As mentioned by Lindholm, Division 2 will also start a limited-time Resident Evil event next week, which will allow players to unlock a variety of RE-themed goodies. You can check out a quick trailer of the event, below.
It looks decent, although I better be able to fix my hair like Leon Kennedy. Here are some more details about the Resident Evil event:
Division 2 is helping to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the survival horror classic, Resident Evil. You can unlock special Resident Evil caches that contain themed cosmetic items, including clothing, weapon skins, individual vanity items; and also earn additional game rewards like backpacking trophies. To celebrate the start of the event, all agents who log in during the Resident Evil event will receive the Leon Kennedy RPD 3-piece costume to begin the collection. This is a limited time event, so come back and get your gear by February 15th.
The Division 2 by Tom Clancy is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4, and can be played for backward compatibility on Xbox Series X / S and PS5. Resident Evil content and the next generation update will arrive next Tuesday (February 2).
