West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey said on Wednesday in America’s Newsroom that President Biden’s climate policies are “destructive” to the American economy.
On Biden’s first day in office, he signed several executive actions in law, including an order to re-join the Paris Climate Agreement and halt the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline. The change impacted nearly 11,000 jobs in the United States, which eliminated the work for many employees.
Morrisey argued that Biden is bringing a “wrecking ball” to jobs in the oil, gas and coal industries of many states, as his administration has reversed many of Trump’s industry-friendly policies.
PATRICK MORRISEY: “In the first week of a Biden administration … the president is really taking a wrecking ball to many of the states that have jobs in the oil, gas and coal industry. This will have a very damaging impact, especially for the economy is coming out of COVID-19, a pandemic.

To amplify this further, you look at when President Obama was in office, I was involved in many legal challenges related to his efforts to close jobs. Biden is going much further. It is a very aggressive agenda, this New Deal Green and it is much more radical than we saw under President Obama. I think he’s kicking the American people when he’s down economically and it’s not a message of unity he’s talking about.

We will defend America. This is what Republican Attorney Generals do … and we will make sure that we are the last line of defense against some of these policies. I think Americans need to focus on the difference between rhetoric, the preaching of unity and how radical these policies are.
